한국·캄보디아 정상회담

훈 마넷 캄보디아 총리와의 첫 정상회담에서 스캠 범죄 등 우리 국민을 위협하는 초국가 범죄에 ‘강력 대응’하기로 함께 뜻을 모았습니다.

범죄의 양상이 국경을 넘어 고도화되는 만큼 국가 간 공조의 중요성이 더욱 중요해지고 있습니다. 국민의 생명과 안전을 철저히 지키고자 ‘한국인 전담 한-캄보디아 공동 태스크포스(TF)’, 일명 ‘코리아 전담반’을 11월부터 전격 가동하기로 합의했습니다. 전담반 내 한국 경찰 규모 및 운영 방식 또한 빠른 시일 내 확정하기로 했습니다.

우리 정부는 앞으로도 국민의 삶을 실질적으로 수호할 수 있도록 외교적 노력을 포함한 가능한 모든 방안을 강구해나갈 것입니다.

한국과 캄보디아는 1997년 재수교 이후 교역, 투자, 인적 교류 등 다양한 분야에서 비약적인 관계 발전을 이뤄왔습니다. 양국이 ‘초국가 범죄’라는 위기를 잘 이겨내고 ‘전략적 동반자’ 관계를 굳건히 발전시켜 나갈 것으로 확신합니다.

At the first summit with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, we agreed to take strong measures against transnational crimes such as online scams that threaten the safety of our people.

As criminal activities become more sophisticated crossing borders, intergovernmental cooperation is more crucial than ever. To thoroughly protect the lives and safety of our nationals, we agreed to launch the 'Korea-Cambodia joint task force for Koreans', also known as the 'Korea Task Force', starting in November. The operational structure and size of Korean police unit within the Task Force will also be finalized as soon as possible.

The Korean government will continue to explore all possible measures, including diplomatic efforts, to effectively safeguard the lives of our nationals.

Since the re-establishment of diplomatic relations in 1997, Korea and Cambodia have achieved remarkable progress in various fields such as trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges. 이재명 대통령은 오늘 오전 제47차 아세안 정상회의 참석을 계기로 ‘훈 마넷’ 캄보디아 총리와 취임 후 첫 양자회담을 가졌습니다.

양국 정상은 회담을 통해 ‘한국인 전담 한-캄보디아 공동 태스크포스(TF)’ 명칭의 코리아 전담반을 11월부터 가동키로 전격 합의하고, 전담반 내에 한국 경찰 파견 규모 및 운영 방식을 빠른 시일 내에 확정하기로 합의했습니다.

이재명 대통령은 최근 스캠 범죄에 연루된 우리 국민 송환 및 피해자 보호 과정에서 캄보디아 측이 제공한 제반 협조에 대해 훈 마넷 총리에게 사의를 표하고, 스캠 범죄에 대한 양국의 효과적인 공동 대응을 위해 적극 공조해 나가자 말했습니다.

훈 마넷 총리는 10여 일 전 이 대통령이 파견한 한국 정부 합동 대응팀과의 긴밀한 소통을 시작으로 양국 간 협의를 진행한 결과 이번에 ‘한국인 전담반’ 가동에 합의한 것을 평가한다 답했습니다.

훈 마넷 총리는 최근 스캠 범죄단지 집중 단속 등 초국가범죄에 대한 강력한 대응으로 캄보디아 치안이 상당히 개선되었다고 설명했고, 이재명 대통령은 치안 개선과 한국인 전담반 가동을 계기로 프놈펜 등 일부 지역에 대한 여행경보 하향 검토를 지시하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

두 정상은 1997년 재수교 이후 양국 관계가 교역‧투자, 인적 교류 등 다양한 분야에서 비약적 발전을 이루어 온 점을 평가하고 작금의 스캠 범죄 대응 문제를 잘 이겨내 전략적 동반자 관계를 계속 굳건하게 발전시켜 나가자고 말했습니다.

아울러 이 대통령은 캄보디아 진출 우리 기업들이 캄보디아 경제발전에 적극적으로 기여했음을 설명하고 우리 기업의 애로사항 해결을 위한 캄보디아 측의 지속적인 관심과 지원을 당부했습니다.

훈 마넷 총리는 한국이 캄보디아의 경제성장과 발전에 많은 기여를 해왔다며 양국 관계를 소중히 여기고 있다고 말했습니다.

양국 간 지속적인 발전을 희망하며 우리 기업의 애로사항 해결을 관련 부처에 지시하겠다고 약속했습니다.
